Feature: The feature presentation on HBO tonight is Love Actually.

Week 7 Vocabulary Definitions & Examples

Similar (adj) - Ms. S can always tell when two assignments are too similar...it makes her very sad when her students copy off each other's work, rather than trying to complete it on their own and learn something!
Theory (noun) - Darwin had a revolutionary theory about evolution - we now refer to it as the survival of the fittest.
Section (noun, verb) - The hairstylist had to section off pieces of hair in order to only highlight the top layer.
Section: (n) a part that is cut off or separated, (v) to cut through so as to present a section

Theory: (n) a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena

Similar: (adj.) having a likeness or resemblance, especially in a general way

I went to a resturant and I had a dog but he couldn't go in because of the policy. I wanted the dog to go in so I wanted to legislate. It was legal to take the dog in another store that didnt have that law. I went to another store to eat. The other restuarant was better anyways.

Week 6 Vocabulary Sentences

If you are legal to this country the border patrol couldn't take you to Mexico.It is legal to have a gun but you can't take it to Mexico. It is a policy that the U.S and Mexico made to prevent violence. You could get arrested if you break the policy and take a gun to Mexico. They have tried to legislate the smoking law but it didn't pass. The legislated that you must be 16 to get a permit and must drive with an adult in the car wwith you at all times.

Legal - It is not legal for people to drive until they are at least 16 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Policy - School policy requires that students come to school every day!
Legislate - It is the duty of the California State Legislature to legislate new laws that protect the rights of its citizens.
